The Sound

Did you hear it?
The sound, you know.
The sound of the other shoe dropping.

Didn’t expect it.
The news, you know.
The news from the doctor disclosing.

What it looks like.
The lumps, you know.
The lumps, you can’t feel, but been dreading.

Looks suspicious.
Second time, you know.
Second time, there’s no curing.

Recall what he said.
Only treat, you know.
Only treat, second time, there’s no curing.

Take it all in.
Process it, you know.
Numb, cry, worry, hope; inside screaming.

Retest. Now wait.
Results, you know.
Breathe, safe this time; dread never ending.

The Dream Catcher

dream catcher

Which dreams are caught,
An ancient craft taught
So long ago in distant time
Now, silent as today’s mime?

Are caught dreams prisoners,
With untold stories, no futures,
Yearning to escape to the great beyond,
Dancing like fireflies on a moonlit pond?

Which ones escape, which ones are kept,
What if already dreamt,
Or slips away through a crack,
What if it’s darker than black?

What Entity, what Being
Has the power deciding
With revered and fabled ability,
Decisions made hastily or sensibly?

A dream’s Fate or Future
Snares in the dream catcher,
Snags like an insect in a spider’s web,
Or gently floats out to sea with tide’s ebb.

Reflections in a Gazing Ball

Nolan photo 1

Reflections seen in a gazing ball:
Absolute truths.
Singular hopes.
Secret dreams.
Curious eyes.

Too truthful to bear.
Centered or off-balance.
Luminous like the super moon.
Radiant like the noon sun.

Senses awakened from gazing:
Well being.

Always dwelling within,
Sometimes buried, sometimes forgotten.
Always desiring endless attention,
Sometimes met with apprehension.

Concentration channels clarity.
Contemplation illuminates.
Meditation soothes, calms.
Reflection creates passageways.
