I have published a book on Amazon: Parkinson’s, Poetry, Art and Me

Please share this post, especially with those in the Parkinson’s Community.

I am pleased to announce that I have published a book on Amazon.com, Parkinson’s, Poetry, Art and Me.  It is available as a Kindle e-book (will download on any device) and as a paperback book.  I have Parkinson’s disease (PD), and I discovered that writing and art helped me cope, manage and accept my diagnosis.  My book is a collection of poetry that goes beyond Parkinson’s, includes poetry on observations, nature, random thoughts, relationships; all which provided inspiration to me.  Some poems are illustrated with my original art and photography.  Explore chapters with themes of I Can’t Have Parkinson’s, Perfectly Natural, What Comes into My Head, That 1 +1 Thing, and Fragmented Feelings.  I hope you purchase my book because you are interested in knowing how I feel about having Parkinson’ disease, and you are curious about how I am being human in the world, just being Lynn.

  1. I’d like to hear from you. I’m so sorry for all you have had to overcome, I have two sons, Philip & Casey. I hope Philip is well and you are sticking to your art, exercise and congratulations on becoming a grandmother. I thought you’d poem about Barb and the picture of both of your eyes, was extremely well written and a great way to further enhance the readers experience of the emotions you are trying to convey. My son Philip was born on October 7 2020 but I went into labor October 6 and I kept thinking, it must be my grandma.

My son Philip looks exactly like my mom and a lot like you when you both were his age, it’s actually unreal when you compare the photos of when you both were his age. He also has barbs dimples.

I’m proud of you and your resilience.

    • Dara – I’m so happy to hear from you. I have followed your Cause for Casey and some other things you have written. I’m very sorry for your losses over the years. I’m so glad you have a family. It’s interesting you named one of your sons Phillip, as you know that is my son’s name. I called your mother the day after Valentine’s Day this year. I left voicemail, but did not hear back. I would like to talk with you. I admire you for all you have accomplished in your life.
